With all of the fresh innovations and ingenious technologies that have been created to combat rising gas prices and aid environmental efforts, the automotive industry has been revolutionized. Most recently, there has been a movement for the development of hydrogen infrastructure, yet progress has been complicated by financial support.

However, South Korean automaker Hyundai is determined to advance this technology and has proved this dedication by joining a fuel-cell-development team  that is organized by the U.S. Department of Energy. Hyundai is also a step ahead of the game as the brand has not only created but also distributed a hydrogen fuel-cell electric vehicle called the Hyundai ix35 Fuel Cell which is currently in the European market. This zero-emissions vehicle will arrive in U.S. showrooms to join the new Hyundai   lineups under the Hyundai Tucson nameplate.

Hyundai is focusing their time and effort into fuel cell technology because it is their firm belief that this is the direction that the future of the automotive industry is headed. This is because instead on relying on the power storage that a battery provides, they gather their power from the natural environment in the form of hydrogen and oxygen. This ensures that there is a power source available at all times while maintaining zero emissions and a high fuel economy.

At Buerkle Hyundai, we are extremely excited to see the future of hydrogen infrastructure and how it will continue to be implanted.
