After the Frankfurt Auto Show last month, our attention is now focused on the upcoming SEMA Auto Show, taking place in Las Vegas this November. At this event, many automakers will bring their latest innovations, technologies and concepts to display, and of course Hyundai will be one of them.
Not only will the South Korean automaker be showcasing their amazing 1,000 horsepower Hyundai Genesis coupe, but will also display their special EGR Night Racer concept which is heavily influenced by the Hyundai Veloster Turbo.
This unique concept was the result of a collaboration between Hyundai and the EGR Group, a company that supplies OEM and aftermarket accessories. This racecar was explicitly designed to tackle the nighttime track and displays a flashy exterior thanks to its custom headlights, roof-mounted LED light bar and neon "Yellowcake" paint.
Considering the fact that this model is indeed a racecar, it features many racing edits for boosted performance like its 1.6-liter turbocharged engine that generates 250 horsepower, a custom roll case for increased rigidness, substantial Brembo brakes, AEM strut brace, an ARK coil-over suspension, DPE 3-piece racing wheels and Toyo tires.
"Veloster Turbo provides an ideal tuning platform for enthusiasts who want to modify their cars," explains vice president, product planning, Hyundai Motor America, Mike O'Brien. "EGR created a very special night-focused time attack car that perfectly showcases Veloster Turbo's inherently sporty DNA."1
