New 2019 Hyundai Elantra Limited Review

The Hyundai Elantra is Redesigned, Revamped, and Ready to Tackle Your Commute in 2021

Since 1990, the Hyundai Elantra has been the go-to car for drivers throughout Minneapolis and St. Paul when they want a sedan that's easy to drive, loaded with features, and eye-catching on the road. At Buerkle Hyundai, where the Elantra has long been one of our favorite models to recommend, we're excited to bring you the latest version - the completely redesigned, 2021 Hyundai Elantra.

2021 is much more than just a new model year for the perennially popular Elantra sedan. It also launches the model's seventh generation, and it comes complete with a huge list of up updates and upgrades, both inside and out.

What's New for the 2021 Hyundai Elantra?

Longtime fan or new to the Elantra model name, there's a lot for everyone to know about the latest version of Elantra sedans that we have available for Brooklyn Park and Roseville drivers. There's new power, new efficiency, new features, and a new frame. To pique your curiosity, we've pinpointed the three changes we're most excited about here:

  1. A new hybrid option. For the first time in its 30+ years, the Hyundai Elantra is offering Woodbury and White Bear Lake drivers a compact hybrid sedan option in 2021. Available on the top two trim levels, the 2021 Elantra SEL and Elantra Limited, this innovative system gets an estimated 50 mpg combined.
  2. A new performance option. For drivers who prefer power over fuel efficiency, the new Elantra also introduces us to yet another new flavor in 2021 - the performance-tuned Elantra N Line. Not only does it introduce a new, turbocharged engine to the model, it also comes with a more aggressively designed exterior that includes unique trim elements and a dual-pipe exhaust system.
  3. New exterior design. This isn't your grandmother's old sedan. The 2021 Hyundai Elantra is slick, sleek, sporty, and sophisticated. It's long, wider, and lower than the outgoing generation, and it'll turn heads everywhere you go.

Power and Performance

With the additions of hybrid and performance variants, the total number of possible powertrains available for the 2021 Hyundai Elantra is three. Depending on how you want your new car to respond and drive, you get to choose from an impressive array of well-crafted Hyundai engines, including:

  • The base engine, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that carries over from 2020 and is rated for 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque
  • The new hybrid option, a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that works with a 32-kilowatt electric motor to produce a total system output of 139 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque, and earns an estimated 50 mpg in combined driving
  • The Elantra N-Line option, our new performance-turned system, a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that cranks out 201 horsepower, with 195 pound-feet of torque

Trim Level Options

In addition to giving drivers a choice in powertrain, Hyundai also makes the latest Elantra model available in a lineup of well-equipped trim levels. With a range of great features listed as standard or optional on each one, choosing the best fit for your Minneapolis commute comes down to your individual personality and needs. The options include:

The 2020 Hyundai Elantra, with More Standard Features than Ever Before, is Now Available in St. Paul, MN

1990 was a pivotal year, with the collapse of the Berlin Wall and the launch of the Hubble telescope. But, at Buerkle Hyundai, one of our favorite events from that year had nothing to do with world politics or outer space, and everything to do with the way our customers get to and from work, because that was the year when Hyundai first started production on the popular Hyundai Elantra sedan.

Now, with the recent arrival of the stylish, well-equipped, 2020 Hyundai Elantra, this compact car is proving yet again why it's been at the top of many drivers' must-test drive list for the past three decades.

The 2020 Hyundai Elantra, which we have in stock right now for Minneapolis and Roseville, MN drivers to meet and test drive in person, offers more standard features than any previous model year. New Elantra sedans come with a dual-zone automatic climate control system standard, as well as more safety features and advanced driver aids than previous years. Plus, a new continuously variable automatic transmission has been added to several Elantra trim levels, offering smooth and efficient shifting and performance.

2020 Hyundai Elantra Performance

Aside from the new transmission, much about how the 2020 Elantra performs will feel familiar to Inver Grove Heights and White Bear Lake drivers. There are still six great trim level and three fun engine options, with the decision for which one you get coming down to your personality and personal preference.

Most trims come equipped with the base engine, which is a 147-horsepower, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. Paired to the new automatic transmission, this system offers plenty of power to get you to and from work safely and efficiently.

For drivers who prefer to be a little more environmentally friendly, the Elantra Eco trim level has a unique engine of its own, in the form of a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder that's rated for 128 horsepower.

Finally, the third engine is available only on the top-of-the-line Elantra Sport model. It presents St. Paul, MN drivers with an exciting 201 horsepower from a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine.
